Antenatal Expressing Kits
Hand expressing to collect and store your colostrum in pregnancy decreases the chance of your baby receiving formula and promotes exclusive breastfeeding. This Antenatal Expressing Kit gives mothers all the resources needed to collect and store antenatal colostrum in a practical, safe, educated way. Most women can start antenatal expressing from 37 weeks but please get clearance from your midwife/doctor.
Kits include:
Hand expressing instructions
Breastmilk storage instructions
6 x 1 mL syringe with cap
6 x 3 mL syringe with cap
3 x 5 mL syringe with cap

This kit is highly recommended to first time mothers, mothers with gestational diabetes, a chance of having a caesarean birth, a history of breast surgery, if your baby is measuring 'small or large for gestational age', or there is a family history of cows’ milk protein sensitivity.
Antenatal expressing may not be safe in pregnancies with complications that may lead to uterine contractions including (but not limited to): a history of antepartum haemorrage or placenta praevia, previous classic, undocumented or multiple caesarean scars, any suspicion of fetal compromise or any abnormal tests of foetal wellbeing or serious maternal, mental, obstetric or medical issues.
